What is your outlook for weather-based marketing?

Factoring the weather into your comms should be part of your marketing forecast. Everyday life is influenced by weather changes, triggering decision-making, emotions and a sales opportunity for savvy marketers. A temperature increase of just 1-degree Fahrenheit can increase weekly air con sales by 24%, whilst a 1-degree drop can increase weekly sales of portable heaters by 15% (source:'Profit of One Degree’ by wxtrends.com).

Print – The vital ingredient

Yesterday I attended the DMA event, Print – the vital ingredient.

The theme for the morning was, that like a phoenix rising from the flames, we are seeing a resurgence in the popularity of direct mail as part of a multi-channel campaign.

There are many factors that are contributing to a return to the importance of direct mail, including email fatigue, a new data driven relevancy and its ability to engage its audience.

Why you need to be ready now for your Christmas campaigns

The clocks haven’t changed yet, but now is the critical time to be considering your Christmas campaigns.

With an estimated 20% of annual sales generated in December it’s critical you’re in front of customers, and prospects. Consumers have money to spend over the festive period so make sure they spend with you - not a competitor. This is where early planning can get you the edge.

Analogue B2B direct marketing isn't dead

The other day I thought it would be fun to introduce my 9 year old son to vinyl records. I dug out my USB turntable and hooked it up to the laptop and pulled out my teenage record collection (I am a hoarder). We were both amazed that it worked in the first place and he was fascinated by the whole thing. He really couldn’t believe this black shiny disk could play music. The educational bit didn’t last though and it ended up in a DJ ‘scratching’ session- an old George Benson LP was wrecked!
