The Telephone Preference Service
Since its inception, more than 20 million telephone numbers have been registered with the TPS. Although in the early days it only covered consumers and landlines, it's been extended and now covers businesses (through the Corporate Telephone Preference Service) and mobile numbers.
To be safe, you should check telephone numbers against both the TPS and CTPS - we do that automatically for every number checked using our online service, Numbercheck. Your first 50 checks are free, and after that we charge 1p per check.

The Mailing Preference Service
Unlike TPS, which is a legal requirement, the Mailing Preference Service is a voluntary suppression list. However, there are now more than 5 million people and households registered with the MPS.
If you're a DMA member, like us, then you'll know you need to use the MPS and the Baby MPS as a matter of course. Even if you're not, it's easy to understand that it makes little sense to send your marketing campaign to someone who has actively said they don't respond to direct mail, as all this does is waste time and money.

The Fax Preference Service
The same legislation applies to fax marketing as to telemarketing, and there are over 2 million fax numbers registered on the FPS suppression list. It's an offence to send an unsolicited sales or marketing campaign to them, so we've an online checking service available, at just 1p per check. For larger volumes, use our plug-in for Excel.

For anything more than simple checking against the preference services, we've a wide range of offline cleaning, appending and enhancement options available.
